Raffaele Schiavo (Siracusa - Italy)  eclectic musician, music therapist (Quadrennial Course of Music Therapy in Assisi/Perugia) and research, qualified in Canto at the Conservatory of Music "A. Corelli" in Messina, he studied piano and composition in Rome and in Budapest.
Member of the renaissance-baroque ensemble Harmoniosi Concenti from the 1998, he devotes his main activity to the executive praxis of the early music and to a wide research on vocal potential through the Harmonic Chant technique. In July 2002 he presented with success his workshop "Overtone Singing: revelation from our immediate invisible" at the 10th World Congress of Music Therapy in Oxford (UK). The same workshop, in its extensive version, titled "Harmonic Chant and the musical archetypes recovered". A pre-text to revive the light 'motifs' of our resonant nature", was selected for the 6th European Music Therapy Congress in Jyväskylä (Finland – June 2004).
He cooperates with the Istituto di Gestalt, Human Communication Center, and works as music therapist and teacher at the Italian national health service (A.S.L. 8 – Siracusa), rehabilitation centres, hospitals, school and penitentiaries. His research is worldwide appreciated in oncology (poster presentation at the 1st International Congress of Integrative Oncology – Society of Integrative Oncology, New York - Nov. 2004) and in penitentiary (Centro Benenzon Italia, II International Congress of Music Therapy, "Music between neuroscience and art", Alba (CN), May-June 2006).
He conducts workshops on Harmonic Chant and the recovery of musical archetypes, by focusing on the body as an instrument of resonance. His shows and his compositions are characterized by an unusual contamination of styles and gestuality, of tunes and lyrics taken from the ancient literature and from original works through which the Overtone Singing expression becomes dominant. He frequently performs with the actress/author Maristella Marino, his companion in life, choosing to interact with the works of some Sicilian figurative artists. In this regard, he recently appeared into the Rai Educational TV program, inside the chapter entitled Siciliarte, with the artist Angela Gallaro. At the moment he writes a column "Music & Therapy" for the Italian magazine Suono.

As a result of independent research on the life and teachings of Pythagoras, Dr. James B. Hopkins was inspired to commission a series of unique musical instruments for healing purposes.
Pythagoras was credited as being the first person to prescribe harmonic frequencies and music to treat human conditions. He invented instruments and with the use of sound and vibration he was able to bring an individual’s attention to the awareness of their Divine Nature in order to facilitate the healing process.
Dr Hopkins has spent the last seven years dedicated to recreating and manifesting these instruments for the purpose of resurrecting this ancient tradition.

L'Esprit Mimih désigne l'esprit bienveillant en langue aborigène. Un de ces esprits qui nous accompagne tout au fil de la vie et qui nous facilite les rencontres, l'échange, le partage, qui nous fait signe quand on s'écarte du chemin, qui nous fait vivre des synchronicités quand nous sommes bien centré. L'Association du même nom a pour but de promouvoir les instruments de musique et la musique du monde. Formée par un collectif de musiciens réunis autour de leur passion pour des instruments de musique vibratoires, l'Association organise des concerts, des festivals, produit des albums, fait des animations pour les maisons de retraite, les crêches, les écoles. Elle aide d'autres associations ou groupes de musique pour le montage de concerts, de festivals, d'enregistrement. Discographie : Le premier album "Voyages entre Terre et Ciel" a été enregistré en direct pendant un atelier de relaxation au Caveau du Bien-Être le 22 février 2008 avec Bols de cristal et didgeridoo.

The band SOUNDS OF ATLAS has his origins on the streets of Toulouse, where Didgeridoo player Jasper ATLAS met the tenor Sax of Guilhem VERGER. The news spread rapidly and they were invited in theatres and bars: La Mounède, Salle du Cap, Père Peinard, l’Endroit, Le Filochard, Chez Azzo, aso… but also in nearby cities as Narbonne, Carcassonne, Albi and Béziers. The two horns were reinforced with a drummer and a guitarist. Never repudiating their origins they continue playing in small or big formation on street, to have the most heterogeneous audiences imaginable. Their first album ”Psychozoïc Area ( Urban Mystification Beat!)” is released in August 2006. On the streets as well under smaller skys the music of SOUNDS OF ATLAS is sweeping the public. Based on the Didgeridoo Trance their music is mixing influences of Tribal, Rock, Jazz and World-music always with Groove and Melody.They played at "BERLIN FUSION FESTIVAL"and at "SWIZZERIDOO" the swiss didgeridoo festival and had great responce from the audiance.In 2008 they played at the famous didgeridoo festival "LE REVE DE L'ABORIGENE" and had great responce from the public too. MACABEYA ist eine Formation der speziellen Art.
Das Didgeridoo, ein uraltes Holz-Blasinstrument der australischen Aborigines, wird von Manfred Scheffknecht gespielt, erforscht und gebaut. Seine Faszination für dieses Instrument ist gross und widerspiegelt sich in seinen gespielten Sounds. Auf geheimnisvolle Art kann dieser Sound die Wurzeln unseres Daseins durch seine Vibration erreichen, berühren, erinnern und manchmal gar wohlig entspannen.
Erika Caluori, die sich gerne der Erforschung von den geheimnisvollen Lehren des Lebens hingibt, inspirierten Manfreds Sounds auf dem Didgeridoo. So begann sie mit der Einbringung und Umsetzung  von Ergänzungen. Mit Elementen wie ihrer Stimme, verschiedenen Trommeln und anderen alten Instrumenten dieser Erde gab es interessante Kombinationen. Mit dem Schreiben eigener Geschichten, dem Erzählen derer und dem Verweben mit der Musik war „MACABEYA“ geboren und es begann nun eine spannende Reise des Duos.

Ballycotton - Jenseits vom Ende der Zeit
Eine traumhafte Reise durch die Vielfalt der Musik
Fantasy-Folk ist die Bezeichnung, welche die fünf Musiker aus Niederösterreich für ihre Musik gewählt haben. Die Bandgeschichte reicht in das Jahr 1996 zurück, als die Gründungsmitglieder die Gruppe nach einem verträumten Fischerdorf in Südirland, Ballycotton, benannten. Zu den Höhepunkten in der Bandgeschichte zählt eine Konzerttournee in Taiwan in ausverkauften Hallen.
Vor drei Jahren brachte Ballycotton das Album "Eyla" heraus und ernteten durchwegs gute Kritiken. Mit Eyla demonstrierte die Gruppe, was sie unter Fantasy-Folk versteht. Verträumte und rasante Melodien verschiedener Stilrichtungen und Geschwindigkeiten, von Weltmusik über Folk. Das neue Album "Jenseits vom Ende der Zeit" knüpft jedoch nicht nahtlos an das Vorgängerwerk an, im Gegenteil - die Band hat wieder einen großen Schritt in ihrer Entwicklung vollzogen. Diese Veränderungen sind hauptsächlich stilistisch und aus den Arrangements herauszuhören, denn musikalisch kann man den Virtuosen nichts mehr vormachen. Sie beherrschen ihr Instrumentarium nach langjähriger Erfahrung in hoher Perfektion.

Im Bann von Rhythmus und Melodie
Die ersten Nummern erinnern etwas an das Schaffen des bekannten französischen Musikers Yann Tiersen (Die wunderbare Welt der Amelie, Good Bye Lenin). Wie Tiersen gelingt es Ballycotton, das Auditorium in den Bann von Rhythmen und Melodie zu ziehen und Gefühle zu wecken. Sind die Klänge zu Beginn der musikalischen Reise schnell und folklastig, erfährt das Werk im Laufe der 13 Stücke manch Ruhepause vor einer erneuten rasanten Steigerung. Dabei sind der Ablauf und das Ineinandergreifen der einzelnen Titel höchst beachtenswert, es entstand ein großes Ganzes, das im Einklang miteinander zu funktionieren versteht. Doch auch einzelne Nummern verfehlen ihre Wirkung nicht. Der harmonische Aufbau des Albums erinnert streckenweise auch an die Projekte des bekannten österreichischen Musikers "Gandalf", der übrigens zu den international erfolgreichsten Musikern unseres Landes zu rechnen ist. Für Neugierige stehen bereits jetzt zwei der Lieder auf MySpace zur Verfügung, "Metamorphose" und "Cuba Libre".

Die Musiker von Ballycotton
Die Musiker, deren künstlerischer Ausdruckskraft das Album zu verdanken ist, sind Christina Gaismeier an der Violine, Alex König an Gitarre, Bouzouki und Mandoline, der in der Mittelalterszene weithin bekannte und in vielen Projekten aktive Percussionist Harald Binder und Peter Beinhofer der so manche Nummer mit seinem Akkordeon dominiert. Robert Polsterer, das neueste Bandmitglied, ebenfalls sehr aktiv in diversen Projekten innerhalb und außerhalb der Mittelalter-Musikszene, steuert Obertongesang, Gitarrenklänge und Bass bei.

Skalli  Es ist vollbracht! Nach einem lustigen Wochenende im Tonstudio, während dem wir unseren ‚Herrn der Schönen Töne’, schwer ins Schwitzen gebracht haben, kann nun die Welt die Musik der Spielleute von Tibetréa hören, ohne dass wir zugegen sind.  Unser erstes Demo-Werk heißt „SKALLI“. Dies ist eine Figur der germanischen Mythologie. Skalli ist ein Wolf, der die Sonne verfolgt. Er stammt nach der Edda von Fenrir (dem Fenriswolf) und einer als „Alte vom Eisenwald“ bezeichneten Riesin ab. Sein Zwillingsbruder Hati verfolgt den Mond. Die Herkunft des Namens Skalli wird in der Literatur als „Schatten“, „Stürmer“, „Spötter“ oder „Trug“ angegeben. Skalli jagt den Sonnenwagen der Sonnengöttin Sol über den Himmel und treibt so die Sonne zur Eile an. Bei einer Sonnenfinsternis kommt er der Sonne gefährlich nah. Am Tag des Weltunterganges (Ragnarök) werden die Wölfe die Gejagten einholen und verschlingen. (Quelle: Wikipedia)
Mit unserer Musik erzählen wir vom Mythos und der Magie des Fliegens und der Sehnsucht nach der Weite der Welt, vom Durchtrennen der eigenen Fesselbande, der Kraft des Feuers und von heulenden Werwölfen. Wir verbinden folkloristische und mittelalterliche Klänge mit eigenen Texten und modernen Einflüssen und erwecken althochdeutsche Texte aus dem 9. Jahrhundert zu neuem Leben. Iban Nikolai starts playing didgeridoo in 1997.He has learnt from fifteen maestros in Europe and also with Yolngu aboriginal people in Arnhem Land (Northern Australia). His way of understanding this instrument makes him fuse different sorts of music as folk, rock, dub, thecno, funky..developing a personal and peculiar style. He has recorded three cds on his own:”Yurlungurr” “Didjeridu Hotsak” and “Hamar”, and has colaborated with about eleven bands . Nowdays, he is component of the band called Samar, a fusion band, together with renown musicians like Pascal Gaigne, Ritxi Salaberria , Iker Telleria and Javier Area.They ´ve recorded “Samar” in 2007. He is considered a very enthusiastic didge player . In the other hand, he works as a didgeridoo teacher since 2001. Iban Nikolai empieza a tocar el didgeridoo en 1997 . Aprende con quince maestros en Europa y también con los aborígenes Yolngu en Arnhem Land (Australia). Su forma de entender el didgeridoo hace que fusione este instrumento con estilos musicales como folk, rock ,dub, tecno,funky... desarrollando un estilo tan personal como peculiar. Ha grabado 3 discos en solitario Yurlunggur, Didjeridu Hotsak y Hamar. Ha colaborado en más de una decena de bandas y actualmente es componente de Samar, grupo de fusión, en el que trabaja con músicos de renombre como Pascal Gaigne, Ritxi Salaberria , Iker telleria y Javier Area.Han grabado “Samar”en el 2007. Es considerado un “didge player” muy entusiasta . Por otra parte, se dedica a dar cursos y talleres de didgeridoo desde el 2001. CURSOS Ha cursado con los siguientes maestros: Didgeridoo: -Yidaki Masterclass con Djalu Gurruwiwi y Milkayngu Mununggurr en el Garma, Arnhem Land, Australia.(2003) -Lies Beijerinck y Sjaak Sbell (Holanda 2000). -Nello y Carma (Madrid 2001 curso de didgeridoo y voz) -Masterclass de didgeridoo con Mark Atkins, Charlie Mc Mahon, Gary Thomas y Michael Jackson( Bélgica 2002) -Mattias Muller (Italia 2002) -Ansgar Manuel Stein (Alemania 2003) Otros: -Tuti (canto armónico) Donostia 2002 -Erramun e Isaak Oiartzabal (saxofón y ritmo 2002) -Taller con Javier Area sobre Percusiones del Mundo y Percusión Corporal (2007) -Taller de Yidaki tradicional con Marcos Andreu (2007) COMO PROFESOR Ha impartido cursos de didgeridoo en diversos festivales como en Holanda junto a Michael Jackson, MT Yidaki y Rai de Horna y también en Barcelona. En los Centros Juveniles de Hondarribia, Martutene , Bidebieta , Oñati ,Barañain, Zeanuri,Oiartzun ) así como en Centros Cívicos como el Aldabe en Vitoria_Gasteiz . Da clases particulares desde el 2001 en San Sebastian. Realiza talleres en el festival internacional Danzas sin Fronteras en Arija ( Burgos) (2007) GRUPOS En el 2003, junto con Javi Area ,forma Samar , grupo de fusión en la que además participan el Pascal Gaigne (premio al mejor compositor de bandas sonoras de Europa 2006,ha compuesto la música para Azul Oscuro Casi Negro), Iker telleria y Ritxi Salaberria.Compaginan guitarras, ud, vocoder, berinbao, didgeridoo, percusiones, batería y bajo eléctrico. En paralelo a este proyecto forma el grupo “Trokolo Stylers” junto a Gogui . Sólo percusión y didgeridoo .Esta formación realiza más de 70 actuaciónes en dos años. Tambíen da conciertos en solitario desde el 2001 con y sin músicos. También realizó una gira en Nikaragua con el grupo Briganthya . Ha actuado en el museo Gugenhein de Bilbao así como en la fiesta de solsticio de verano en Chillida leku en homenaje al escultor vasco, Eduardo Chillida.También actúa en el 30 aniversario del Peine del Viento. Participa en programas de TV como Forum, Sorginen Laratza y Beste Gu . El gupo Samar crea el tema de presentación de “Gipuzkoako Bertsolaritza Txapelketa Nagusia”en el 2007.

ABOUT GOMA Artist, Jungle Music producer, pioneering Japanese didgeridoo player
In the 1998 Arnhemland Barunga Didgeridoo Competition, Goma received The Northern Land Council prize (judged by Galarrwuy Yunupingu),surprised audiences by being the first non-Aboriginal to be recognized. Since that time, as a solo player, session musician, and band member, he has steadily increased his audience by consistently striving to innovate and expand his musical horizons.
His recently works. The album "Soul of Rite", featuring Goma with Bill Laswell and Karsh Kale, was released. Goma & Jungle Rhythm Section released "Rhythm and Breath. "The band Night Jungle, featuring Goma, released the album "Jungle Cruise". Goma played at the Fuji Rock Festival and other other events. Japanese soccer sensation Hidetoshi Nakata included music by Goma in a music compilation album he put together in honor of the World Cup. The talk with Don Letts,Grammy award film maker was appeared on magazine. He also appeared on Sony Walkman CM (Japan)and also contributed to the Nikon D3 CM(EU & China), the promotional shootings including The North Face( Japan) and son on.
In the 2008, Goma released "Cyborg", an album of dance music which even more deeply explores the musical possibilities of the didgeridoo.
The didgeridoo is a wind instrument made from trunks or branches of the eucalyptus tree which have been hollowed out by termites. It is an ancient, traditional musical instrument, and creates a spacey, natural sound. Goma's strength as a musician is his unique fusion of the natural, ancient tones of the didgeridoo with cutting edge technology.
